Adding the Pixel

Adding the Pixel

What is the pixel all about?

A pixel is a small bit of code that needs to be inserted on a site for us to track user behaviour on the advertiser’s site and/or serve them ads for the site after they have left.

We supply two types of pixels:

1

A Site Retargeting pixel is used to collect visitors to a website or specific webpage for retargeting. Each user that fires the pixel by being on a webpage that contains the pixel code is added to a user pool to later be used for retargeting purposes in campaigns.

2

A Conversion pixel is used to count conversions (also known as actions) within a campaign. The pixel simply fires when triggered. The pixel is triggered when a user views a webpage that contains the conversion pixel code. The Conversion pixel allows us to directly track and attribute sales or sale leads to GoTarget campaigns.

Please note: What you see below are examples only – they are not to be copied and used.

The Site-Retargeting pixel code:

<script async src="https://i.simpli.fi/dpx.js?cid=66138&action=100&segment=princesshelenacollegesitepixel&m=1&sifi_tuid=37838″></script>

Implementation of  the Site-Retargeting pixel code

This needs to be added within <head> and </head> all pages within your site (usually it only needs adding to a single header file or master template) to collect data:

Example of Your Code:

<html>
<head>
<title>Sample HTML File</title>

<script async src="https://i.simpli.fi/dpx.js?cid=66138&action=100&segment=princesshelenacollegesitepixel&m=1&sifi_tuid=37838″></script>

</head>

<body> This is the body of your web page.

</body>

</html>

If you are unfamiliar with changing the code within your site it would be best to let someone with website coding experience to make the changes. You may not have access to the right code from within your CMS and it may need to be changed in the files via FTP.

Conversion Tracking pixel code:

<script async src="https://i.simpli.fi/dpx.js?cid=66138&conversion=40&campaign_id=0&m=1&tid=princesshelenacollegeconversion&sifi_tuid=37839″></script>

Implementation of the Conversion Tracking pixel code

This needs to be added to the conversion page or pages within the <body> and </body> to track conversions eg: if it is to sign up for a newsletter it would be added to the newsletter signup thank-you page. This pixel code needs to be added to specific pages only and not all pages.

Example of Your Code:

<html>

<head>

<title>Sample HTML File</title>

</head>

<body> This is the body of your web page.

<script async src="https://i.simpli.fi/dpx.js?cid=66138&conversion=40&campaign_id=0&m=1&tid=princesshelenacollegeconversion&sifi_tuid=37839″></script>

</body>

</html>
